Who is responsible

Polar Codes runs Ask the Skies and is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, write to support@asktheskies.com. This address also reaches our data protection contact (the "encarregado" under Brazil's LGPD).

What we collect

You choose what you write in your messages. They may reveal sensitive things, such as your health, beliefs or relationships. Please share only what you are comfortable with. We use it only to answer you.

Why we use it

Purpose Legal basis
Creating your account and giving you readings Performance of our contract with you
Billing, invoices and tax records Contract and legal obligation
Security, fraud prevention and error logs Legitimate interests
Anonymized statistics of topics, to improve the product Legitimate interests
Memory and personalization of your readings Your consent (you can withdraw it in My Sky)
Optional analytics (Google Analytics 4) Your consent
Service e-mails, such as the yearly renewal reminder Contract

Where your messages contain sensitive data, we process it because you chose to send it to get your reading, and only for that.

Anonymized statistics

To understand which topics people ask about, we produce aggregate statistics. Personal details are removed from the messages first, and only then does an AI model group them into topics. The result does not identify anyone.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with service providers that work for us:

We may also disclose data when the law or a court order requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

International transfers

We are based in Brazil, and our AI providers are located in the United States. Your data may be processed outside your country. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses or the providers' own commitments under the LGPD and the GDPR.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live (LGPD in Brazil, GDPR in the European Union, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA in California and similar laws), you can:

To make a request, write to support@asktheskies.com from the e-mail address of your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer as soon as possible and within the time the law gives us. You can also complain to your data protection authority: the ANPD in Brazil, or the supervisory authority of your country in the EU or the UK.

We do not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access to our systems. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

The service is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you by e-mail or in the app.
